Creative Lego Design

Have 20,000 Lego pieces lying around? How about covering your kitchen island with them? That’s exactly what Parisian designers Simon Pillard and Philippe Rosetti did.

The Da Vinci Apartment
If Dan Brown, author of The Da Vinci Code were to design his dream apartment, this would be it. At first glance this New York City luxury pad is impressive enough, what with its Central Park views and custom made rare wood furniture.
But concealed within all the pricey decor is a smorgasboard of games,
hidden treasures, encrypted messages and more. Even cooler, the
apartment comes with its own book and soundtrack, all serving the
purpose of solving a series of puzzles of increasing complexity. This
quote from the New York Times Article gives some idea of the madness
involved:
In any case, the finale involved, in part, removing
decorative door knockers from two hallway panels, which fit together to
make a crank, which in turn opened hidden panels in a credenza in the
dining room, which displayed multiple keys and keyholes, which, when
the correct ones were used, yielded drawers containing acrylic letters
and a table-size cloth imprinted with the beginnings of a crossword
puzzle, the answers to which led to one of the rectangular panels
lining the tiny den, which concealed a chamfered magnetic cube, which
could be used to open the 24 remaining panels, revealing, in large
type, the poem written by Mr. Klinsky. (There is other stuff in there,
too, but a more detailed explanation might drive a reader crazy.)

Way Over the Top $400 Million Private Jet

All photos: Edése Doret Industrial Design.
What’s shocking about this picture isn’t the fact that it’s a rather large and glitzy dining room. No, what will completely blow your mind is the fact that this is just one of many over the top spaces inside a private plane.

This isn’t your standard issue millionaire’s jet either. You are looking at the interior of a completely remodeled Airbus A380, yes that monstrous plane soon to be hauling 550 passengers around in a single sitting. The property of an Arab oil magnate with a bit of extra coin to blow, this plane cost its owner a mere 300 million dollars with another 100
million tossed about just for the decadent interiors.

The interior was designed by Edése Doret Industrial Design, which specializes in jet interiors. The ultra luxurious plane will feature a 600 foot master bedroom, lounge and game room. To top it off, two features that would please even the grandest James Bond megalomaniac: a whirlpool tub with a system to drain the water in seconds and a missile defense system.
When you can call one of your buddies on your diamond studded phone from 35,000 feet while relaxing in your A380’s whirlpool tub, that’s when you KNOW you’ve got some serious cash.
Artcoustic Speakers: Make Your Plasma TV Happy

So you’ve just bought yourself a swanky new plasma screen, why not buy some speakers that can do it justice? Although many speakers tend to sacrifice looks for performance, Artcoustic is well known for delivering the goods on both fronts. This company, founded by former Bang & Olufsen designers, offers a wide range of speakers with a very thin profile, suitable for mounting on a wall. Buyers can select from the company’s selection of artwork or patterned fabrics which adorn the speaker grilles. You can even submit your own work which will be applied to the model of your choice.
